More About VanLife Adventure Dogs
Our Story

Meet Lisa. In 2022 she oggled all of the val-lifers on instagram as she spent the pandemic working endless hours at her marketing company. It seemed while everyone else had time and space she was busier than she had ever been-- and more frustration came with it. So she let it all go. In 2023 the house was sold, and the van build began. This is a whole new world of learning, successes, failures and brain power. And with that power comes great excitement. The ability to attain a new level of freedom is the greatest energy even known.

Meet Finn. Short for Finnly that is. He was rescued by Lisa in 2014. It was clear that he had a tainted past, and a lot of trust issues that came with it. He needed a place to call home which included patience, and it is a miracle that he and Lisa found each other. when they did. She was in her mid 30's and losing her ability to hear, but it wasnt until Finn arrived that she realized just how much. So he became her ears, and she advocated for his boundaries. Through a love of training and agility, their relationship grew. Finn officially became a service dog in 2016, and he has not left her side ever since. He still doesnt like to be picked up--Only touch on his terms:)

Meet Jaxx. Or Jaxxon if you want to be technical about it. Jaxx was Lisa's 6th foster of 2023, and she just could not let him go. He was dropped at the shelter with his mom when he was only 5 1/2 weeks, and they were immediately separated for unknown reasons. Lisa and Jaxx found an instant and strong attachment. In addition, he had all the smarts to become a service animal and allow Finn to retire in his old age. Being part Jack Russell, Jaxx is all personality. The side-eye, back-talk and goofiness of this little pup is unmatched. While finn is reserved and stoic, Jaxx is boundless laughter. The energy he brings to this little family unit is a gift for sure!
